Sedation Dentistry

Most kids are calm and comfortable in a pediatric dental office. The additional training the doctors have in caring for children's dental needs make your child feel relaxed and confident during dental treatment. However some children may need some extra support in order to feel comfortable.

Nitrous Oxide: Nitrous oxide, "laughing gas" is a safe effective technique used to calm a child's fear during dental treatment. Children who are administered nitrous oxide remain conscience and aware of their surroundings but their fear is reduced.

Not all children are candidates for nitrous oxide. The doctors have comprehensive specialty training with children and nitrous oxide so feel free to discuss this service with them.

Hospital Dentistry: Hospital dentistry/general anesthesia may be indicated for children with extensive dental needs who are extremely uncooperative, fearful or too young to cope with dental treatment. It is also a treatment option for those with special health care needs. Not all children are candidates for hospital dentistry. Please talk to the doctors regarding this service.
